Leaving Winter Wonderland

Yes, I am leaving winter wonderland up north in Norway for this time any moment soon. It is bittersweet. Because I am leaving to go to Trondheim for 3 days, just to prepare to return to UK. After Christmas it was okay to return to UK, this time it isn't. I don't want to go back. I want to stay.

I probably have this feeling because just in 2 months time I will be back in Norway, and a part of me can't see the point in going away from everything I love and enjoy for just two months. But my head is telling me otherwise. I have to. I have a bachelor to finish, I have stuff to do.

So another part of me is panicking because it feels like I haven't worked as much as I planned to do. But I know that I am not working 24/7 because I know I will finish this in time. I know I rather work like a maniac for the the last month than work like a maniac during Easter break. I did need to slow down a bit. But now it is time to pick up the speed!

In about 2 moths I will be back permanently - That is motivation indeed ;)
As for the style challenge I'll be back stronger tomorrow :)

Looking at the world through sunglasses

Being in winter wonderland at my parents place, of course I had to snap some photos of it when the weather got so clear and sunny. Figured that this is one of the places I have taken photos of the most, so I tried a little twist this time. Using sunglasses in front of the lens was an idea I got from a dear friend who did it during summer last year. Never gotten it out if my head since. This was the perfect time to take that inspiration into action.

P.S the pictures might change a bit in colours from screen to screen, maybe web browser to web browser. The colour of the shade is brown-orangey, almost sepia like. If its yellow it is not its true colour.

Challenge: Style detail #1

I had a wonderful chat with a dear friend about blogging, and we where giving each other ideas about what to blog about. During that conversation I got this idea of a challenge for myself. Last year when I realised my blog was only about my outfits I challenged myself to take pictures of something else every day and post it. This year I got the opposite problem, my blog is about everything else than my style and my passion for expressing myself though clothes. So I am reversing the challenge.

I am challenging myself to take pictures related to my style and post it... Almost everyday. I am saying almost everyday because due to university and work load I know I wont be able to do so every day. And it might be photos of a lip stick, something I bought last week or yesterday, or a favourite piece of clothing. Basically anything from my closet or stuff that I have that is related to my style. And it may have a lot of text and rambling, or no text at all. What do you think?

So, here is challenge #1:

I got this gloves from the same dear friend I mentioned above. I must say I was quite surprised when she said "I got a gift for you" followed by pulling these up from her bag. She was dissatisfied by how they fitted on the hands, and knew how much I liked them. And I wasn't going to say no. I love these babies. I am not a glove shopper, is not a typical item for me to get. But I still love a good pair of chic and stylish gloves.

Safe at home after 10 hours on train at night, few hours of waiting on the bus, then a few hours on the bus. Let me tell you that my butt hurts. I am sitting in the most comfortable sofa ever, but my butt still hurts. And getting almost no sleep at the train, I am surprised I am not more sleepy than this. So I just wanted to do a Instagram update before surrendering and going to bed. There are some really good memories in here :)

Bright yellow & flower patterns

I know we have entered April, and I survived the April's fools day without getting tricked. Still, I really want to share with you some of the inspiration I found in the March edition of Happie Nuts. My all time favourite Japanese fashion magazine. They seem to know exactly what I want, what I need, where I need to be pushed, where I need to go and what I need to wear. And how I should dare more. No magazine hit home like Happie Nuts do. So here we go~

This spring I have fallen for the bright yellow colour, or all bright colours for that matter, but specially yellow. It is such a good detail colour, as well as on clothes to give the outfit some life. This spring/summer I really want to work that yellow colour! I also want to dress up a little bit more cuter, without loosing touch with the edgy/rock-ish side. In general, what I want is to still rock black, white and gray; but with some input of bright and pastel colours.

outfits:
1. I love how the top + a plain skirt becomes so elegant. Not to mention how chic it looks with those red heels.
2. The monochrome trend this spring is just awesome. I am so geared up because two of my favourite "colours" has become a trend together. And a black fake leather skirt, skorts, or shorts is a must have in my closet.
3. To my surprise I have started loving floral patterns. I despised them for a couple of years now, but this year it has grown on me. A pencil or a peplum skirt with floral patter = Yes please!
4. This outfit perfectly illustrates what I mean by rock-ish but with more colours. Light lilac, yellow, mint, bight blue and red is lovely. I just need to learn to combine them with all my black, gray and white clothes.

Outfits:
1. High waisted jeans/leggings is a cool ad quirky combination to tees and blazers. This outfit is kept perfectly balanced with cute heels and a comfortable hairstyle. Love it!
2. Another perfect outfit to show how I want to dress up. This outfit is lovely, and a perfect mix between chic, stylish and casual. Beanie&sweater + skirt&heels = YES.
3. Sweater over shirts is one of my favourite trends ever, and I really hope to keep it though spring/summer by using thin sweater and chiffon shirts. I also am crazy for floral patterned jeans.
4. White jeans and pastel coloured tops might be too light for me. But I still like it a lot.

Above: Although I want to keep using my scarfs, I like how headbands is being picked up and used again.
Below: Great hairstyle inspiration for a hat, beanie and cap lover like me!

I am falling in love with Yui Minemura. She is such a diverse and lovely model. She can pull of so many different looks. Sometimes I don't recognise her unless they have put their name beside her in the mag. Which I think is great that the mags do, it gives us newbies a chance to learn the models names and their faces :)

Just look at Yui Minemura in these four pics of her, so different! Specially on the last one from the others. I have also started to really notice Nicole Abe too. She is different in a good way.

Now, this became a much longer post than what I intended. I just wanted to put a little more effort into my inspiration posts. Not just say vaguely what inspired my and dump a lot of pictures in the post without saying anything more. Although I like my post clean, and without too much text. Did I overkill it this time?

I am also wondering if my blog has changed to just a plain boring one? Because I know one year ago it was all about j-mags, outfits, inspiration, detail pics e.g. Now it is a lot more about my life though pictures and much less about style. I am trying to bring more of my style and inspiration into this blog, but I just want to hear what you, my readers, think :)

At dusk we see...

A sunday a week ago I lured M out on a walk with me, because I needed some air. I got a few moments of daylights before it slowed turned into dusk and darkness. I was snapping pictures until it just got to dark to see anything - though the lens. The walk got much longer than planned because M wanted to go over the hospital bridge, which soon appeared to be a lot further than the memories of it. I followed happily having no clue how far it was. It was a nice walk. A small but long walk immortalized by pictures.

Can you spot the river? Almost hidden by the reflection of the city.
Beautiful scenery
We where accompanied by the moon.
Getting darker and darker, and harder to take pictures.
To dark to catch the duck
Bridge to the other side....
Ducks~ Which I  first thought was rocks..... ehem.
Walking walking walking....
Trondheim at dusk <3
