A tribute to the sweaterdress!

There has been a lot of christmas updates lately, so I thought I would do something entirely different - Sharing my love for the incredible awesome sweaterdress. You can be formal in it, you can be casual in it. You can pull it over your head in the early mornings when you know you don't want to wear jeans for the day, but not skirts or shorts either. And it is a perfect piece to be totally lazy in! So comfortable.

And so it seemse that this is a trend on my favourite webshow too.

So what do you think?

Bright yellow & flower patterns

I know we have entered April, and I survived the April's fools day without getting tricked. Still, I really want to share with you some of the inspiration I found in the March edition of Happie Nuts. My all time favourite Japanese fashion magazine. They seem to know exactly what I want, what I need, where I need to be pushed, where I need to go and what I need to wear. And how I should dare more. No magazine hit home like Happie Nuts do. So here we go~

This spring I have fallen for the bright yellow colour, or all bright colours for that matter, but specially yellow. It is such a good detail colour, as well as on clothes to give the outfit some life. This spring/summer I really want to work that yellow colour! I also want to dress up a little bit more cuter, without loosing touch with the edgy/rock-ish side. In general, what I want is to still rock black, white and gray; but with some input of bright and pastel colours.

outfits:
1. I love how the top + a plain skirt becomes so elegant. Not to mention how chic it looks with those red heels.
2. The monochrome trend this spring is just awesome. I am so geared up because two of my favourite "colours" has become a trend together. And a black fake leather skirt, skorts, or shorts is a must have in my closet.
3. To my surprise I have started loving floral patterns. I despised them for a couple of years now, but this year it has grown on me. A pencil or a peplum skirt with floral patter = Yes please!
4. This outfit perfectly illustrates what I mean by rock-ish but with more colours. Light lilac, yellow, mint, bight blue and red is lovely. I just need to learn to combine them with all my black, gray and white clothes.

Outfits:
1. High waisted jeans/leggings is a cool ad quirky combination to tees and blazers. This outfit is kept perfectly balanced with cute heels and a comfortable hairstyle. Love it!
2. Another perfect outfit to show how I want to dress up. This outfit is lovely, and a perfect mix between chic, stylish and casual. Beanie&sweater + skirt&heels = YES.
3. Sweater over shirts is one of my favourite trends ever, and I really hope to keep it though spring/summer by using thin sweater and chiffon shirts. I also am crazy for floral patterned jeans.
4. White jeans and pastel coloured tops might be too light for me. But I still like it a lot.

Above: Although I want to keep using my scarfs, I like how headbands is being picked up and used again.
Below: Great hairstyle inspiration for a hat, beanie and cap lover like me!

I am falling in love with Yui Minemura. She is such a diverse and lovely model. She can pull of so many different looks. Sometimes I don't recognise her unless they have put their name beside her in the mag. Which I think is great that the mags do, it gives us newbies a chance to learn the models names and their faces :)

Just look at Yui Minemura in these four pics of her, so different! Specially on the last one from the others. I have also started to really notice Nicole Abe too. She is different in a good way.

Now, this became a much longer post than what I intended. I just wanted to put a little more effort into my inspiration posts. Not just say vaguely what inspired my and dump a lot of pictures in the post without saying anything more. Although I like my post clean, and without too much text. Did I overkill it this time?

I am also wondering if my blog has changed to just a plain boring one? Because I know one year ago it was all about j-mags, outfits, inspiration, detail pics e.g. Now it is a lot more about my life though pictures and much less about style. I am trying to bring more of my style and inspiration into this blog, but I just want to hear what you, my readers, think :)

New magazine, New inspiration: Jille March Edition.

Today has been a really slow day, colouring technical drawing in Photoshop is the slowest and most boring work ever. But it has to be done. Although, I am slightly panicking because I am not working on my major project, and tomorrow we are going away!

Anyways, this morning I was looking though a magazine I have never seen though before, Jille. It doesn't feel like a typical gyaru mag. It may not be gyaru at all,  just pure japanese fashion.  It seems a bit more sporty and boyish than my favourite mags, but it is nice to try something new. Sometimes it got a bit to masculine for me, but they still had some awesome shots and outfits! I really love the baseball jacked outfits, and the one where the model is wearing glasses, peplum skirt and sneakers. Sporty is cool.

Also, what the heck is the Swedish text doing on a purse/bag in a Japanese fashion magazine? That seem so random to me.

I just love that first pic. At first I didn't see it, but then I reacted on the baseball and finally saw the while picture.

The shot in the stair is just epic!

Love that adorable mint green baseball jacket, and those sneakers. Adore how usamimi's (hardly remember what they where called!) are still in use. And teal + coral orange/red = Yes please!

All these outfits are sporty in a right way for me. I love all the jackets, wished I had them all. But some of these shoes are horrible. I am just visualizing them all with creepers and pumps! :)

Thiiink we are supposed to watch the last Matrix film tonight, so I'm gonna warm up some left overs from yesterday, bring out the sweets and a Cider with rose taste. I was about to write it is to bad M don't have a microwave, but he does. So, it is SO SO BAD that I didn't think of buying a pack of microwave popcorn...!

Anyways, have a nice Thursday night everyone :)

Quirkiness for spring~

It is weekend, and I wont say finally because I haven't had a proper working week. But I thought I could share some of my faves from the March edition of Jelly magazine. I used to do this before, but haven't done it in ages.

I really like all this quirkiness, for the lack of better word right now. How stylish skirts and heels has been matched with baseball jackets, caps and printed tops. It is a good blend of formal and casual, and allows you yo use your formal clothes in everyday life. I love it. And I like how it becomes quirky without being to crazy or playful.

And I just love that knitted coordination from Emoda. I actually would love to have that outfit. Handcraft resembling clothing in a quirky and good way. (note: I am not 100% sure it is knitted, just looks like it)

I am all in for beanies if somebody haven't noticed though Instagram yet. So far I own two, but I don't have a casual black one. Those below hip length baseball jacket looks gorgeous - in their own sporty way. And I notice that my love for those kind of jackets is still going strong.

I am not that familiar with all the models, so I am not sure who it is on this first picture. But I just love her mess hairdo and serious face. I find that very often the girls are smiling or doing faces and poses in j-magazines, but I love when they go all serious. When a model looks into the camera with a neutral face it comes across as honesty to me - and I like it. Don't get me wrong, I love all the fun and cute faces :3

For summer I seriously need some quirky (gawd I just love that word) cool platform shoes. It looks so good with fake leather skirt. And who knows, I might jump on the transparent/clear purse trend too.  And I must proclaim my love for Yuki Yamamoto. Short bleached hair with those dark roots. I have seen her a lot on Galstars site. She gives me hope - if I ever decide to go short haired to get all of my hair even due to my side cut.

Give Me Bigger Eyes

It's a common thought that lenses and lashes gives the illusion of bigger eyes. I have had my period of lenses and lashes, think I had 2 lenses (blue and grey) and around a thirty kinds of lashes. I am done tormenting my eyes, as I torment them enough by working on my laptop all day.

I still like the gyaru look and the winder eyes tho, so I tried to accomplish that by extended eyeliner and shadowing the eye right. Mission accomplished?
