Returning to home, but leaving a lot behind

Uh-oh. It is time for a bit heartfelt and touchy blog post. Because in merely 5 days I am moving back to Norway. Back to Trondheim. My city, my life. Moving in with M, my boyfriend! That is something big. It is exciting, I am looking forward to it so much. To live with him. To start my career. Which to me feels like starting my life for real. M is coming to UK tomorrow to spend the last days here with me, to help me out e.g., and I appreciate that a lot.

But, no matter how happy I am about all this a part of me can't help but feeling tiny bit sad too. I am leaving more behind than what I expected I would when I first landed in Birmingham Airport September 2012. There is a lot of emotion laying in between the walls of School of Art and Design at University of Wolverhampton. Although I have just been there for 1 year. It is something about affording to walk to Starbucks in lunch breaks and buy a big black coffee for take-away. About cashiers saying "are you alright, darling?" or bartenders saying "are you being served, love?". This politeness that was awfully awkward the first months, but which I have now grown used to.

And I have connected and made friends. From Uk, China & Romania. I never thought I would meet people I would click so well with, and which I dread splitting with. A sweet girl from China who is always happy and spread happiness. An incredible singer from Romania, who thought me that designing isn't about liking it when its going good, but to love every aspect of the process. Two girls I love discussing cultural differences with, or to just watch a movie with Chinese subtitles too.

In the end it is not the place it self I am leaving, I am leaving the people. People who will leave too. Girls who I hope to stay in though with for as long as possible. And I regret nothing. The stress, frustration. The anger, the relief. The joy and being constantly amazed. I have grown so much as a person this year. If somebody asked me if I would do it again, the answer will be no. But if somebody as me if I would recommend doing a year abroad, the answer will be a big big yes. You will learn so much from it. You will learn new things about yourself.

This year has been amazing!

Cambridge IIII

Last pictures of the Cambridge trip in March. After we ate at Hong Kong Fusion we decided to wander around a bit. We found a market, where I bought a bag of lovely mint fudges! After that the fight between the sun and the rain made some dramatic and lovely light. And then it was time to go back to the coach, before it left us behind.

Out of all the trips I did, this is definitely the most memorable one. Because it was such a good atmosphere in Cambridge, and it was with the girls!

Cambridge III

Finally edited the third part of the Cambridge installment - a trip quite a while ago. 16th of March is like a distant memory, but this day is still very bright in mind. It was such a happy time! These pictures are from when we accessed to the backyard of the Trinity College, where the weather also started to get better. It was so lovely there, you could feel the college atmosphere!

After that we walked around a bit before we decided to eat at Hong Kong Fusion. I have no idea why I picked such a un-Chinese dish to eat there. Still a bit new to Chinese food? I don't really know. Anyways, we had a good time!

Instagram 20.03~22.03

My eyes are burning, and all I want to is to sleep. But I can't help but feeling bad for not doing the number one thing I love to do on my free time - blogging. Truth is I don't have much time left of the day when I pack my things and go home for the day. And I rather spent those few hours eating, staring out in the air, listen to music and get ready for bed. Ready for a new day to do something else I really love to do - design interior.

You may call me a workaholic for actually loving being so busy with something. But that is the truth. So I am pulling this blog on a semi-hiatus. Nothing big, nothing to worry about. I will still try to blog when I can, and I'll try to blog though my phone. But there will be no high quality pictures, long post where I write and ramble.

Blogging forward to 16th of May will mostly be work in progress pictures, instagrams, inspiration, and in the moment snaps from my phone without much text. Like this I will still be able to update. I am after all handing in my major project, technical project and marketing project soon. Until the 16th of may, PICTURES:

Korean Ginseng, Rain & Trinity College~

Back to UK means back to a busy schedule. But the motivation is there, because in one moth I have handed in all my projects. Up till then my blogging might be random, there might be days of no blogging and there might be days with several updates. I don't know, and I wont promise anything.
